Meet Beverly Garden, RD, Your Kidney Disease Ally

I help people with kidney disease, including those needing multiple dietary restrictions, simplify their lives with super-easy meal ideas, recipes and unique easy-to-prepare food products! Even the occasional takeout or restaurant meal can be enjoyed if carefully selected! (I'll tell you exactly how to do that!).

And you can do all this while still maintaining a kidney-friendly diet!

There’s no sugar-coating it: the renal diet is TOUGH!

There are SO many things to think about…usually sodium and for some, phosphorus, potassium and even fluid as well! And for those who also have diabetes, this adds another layer to complicate things.

I have realized one very important thing over the years: Most people WANT to follow the diet advice given to them by their doctor and dietitian.

But they need solutions that will fit into REAL life!

With busy lives, busy families and many spending an average of 12 hours a week on dialysis, understandably, the end result is often not enough time and/or energy for meal planning, reading labels, or cooking.

Or, some folks haven’t had much (if any) cooking experience and don’t think preparing kidney-friendly meals is a realistic option for them.

If you find eating right on the kidney diet stressful, exhausting, and confusing, I understand your struggles and I am here to help!

I don’t believe in giving my clients a "diet sheet" and calling it a day, letting them essentially fend for themselves.

I don’t give blanket advice such as NEVER eat those foods, or ONLY eat these foods! I never shame people for their food choices!

I help my clients figure out what they CAN have according to their diet recommendations that will truly fit into their lives, schedules, budgets, and cooking abilities.

It IS possible to eat a low sodium and also a low phosphorus and potassium diet, if needed, without spending hours in the grocery store and kitchen!

You CAN enjoy delicious super-simple meals and snacks if you know how to go about it in the right way!

Hey there!  My name is Beverly Garden.

I have been a registered dietitian for over 25 years. I have worked with people with kidney disease for over 10 years.

I have spent literally hundreds of hours meal planning with and giving shopping and nutrition tips to individuals with chronic and end-stage kidney disease. People who needed to limit sodium and often phosphorus, potassium, and fluid as well.

My clients have found the most success when given practical nutrition tips and meal solutions that will fit into their everyday lives. Not blanket, "one-size-fits-all" nutrition advice!

I have invested countless hours scouring the internet and grocery store shelves to find those “golden nuggets”, like the ONE brand of condensed soup that is low sodium, low potassium, and doesn’t have phosphate additives.

I have loved developing and sharing simple, limited ingredient, or “dump-and-go” kidney-friendly recipes to make my clients’ lives easier.

And I can't wait to help you eat well with kidney disease!
